We experienced several outages this morning (11 July 2007) on the OmegaSoft.co.uk website.

Unfortunately, this also affected our online services. In all, the site was down for 2 hours.

We appologise to any users who were affected by these outages.

We have corrected the problems and we are not experiencing any undue side effects as a result.

Google mail used to power OmegaSoft emails

In a recent BBC News Online article, Google's e-mail for universities, is was mentioned that universities around the world have been switching to Google's mail services, Gmail.

OmegaSoft made the same switch earlier this year. Allowing programmers to access their emails anywhere.

In addition, Google offers superior searching features for finding specific emails and has advanced spam blocking features.

Making changes for larger screens

Visitors of OmegaSoft will note that the majority of the website has been designed to cater for users running a computer with a screensize no larger than 800x600.

However, recent statistical analysis of OmegaSoft.co.uk's traffic (powered by OmegaSoft Traffic Monitor) have shown a major shift in trends over the last 12 months with only 3.77% of our total visitors using this screensize.

While a vast majority of over 95% are using screensize resolutions of at least 1024x768.

A decision has been reached to start customising our website and our products/services to those with larger screensizes.

This of course has major benefits, which we will start to utilise.
